Police Investigate Killing of Retired Ogun Broadcaster

The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the killing of Kitan Oyesiku, a retired staff member of Ogun State Television, and a security guard, who was found dead on June 21, 2026. The 67-year-old security guard was reportedly killed in the early hours of Sunday in the Agodo Community along the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

According to a statement from the police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police were alerted by residents of Iyana Agodo village regarding suspicious activities. Preliminary assessments at the scene revealed signs of forced entry, and the body of the security guard was discovered inside the security post, with his vehicle also found missing.

Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni has ordered a thorough investigation to track down the perpetrators. The police are expanding their surveillance operations across relevant locations as part of ongoing proactive measures.

Oluwaseun Boy, chairperson of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in Ogun State, expressed shock at the gruesome killing and described the incident as devastating.
