Tinubu Orders Rescue Operation After Niger State Abduction

On August 25, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu issued a directive for a coordinated rescue operation following a mass abduction incident in Niger State. He called upon the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, and the Department of State Services, urging immediate action to rescue the victims.

In a statement, Tinubu condemned the attack as an "outrage," labeling it a barbaric and cowardly assault on defenseless Nigerians. He extended condolences to the families of those killed and assured the families of the abducted that the government would not rest until every victim was safely returned.

The president also instructed the Service Chiefs to provide him with regular briefings on the operation's progress until all abducted individuals are accounted for. He pledged the federal government's full support for recovery, relief, and security reinforcement in the affected communities, while offering prayers for the deceased and the residents during this challenging time.
