Governor Bassey Otu Calls for Peace During Eid-el-Maulud

On the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu called on Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad. In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Linus Obogo, Otu described the Prophet's birth as an opportunity for reflection on virtues such as faith, humility, and devotion.

He urged Muslims to embrace love, generosity, and justice, highlighting the teachings of the Prophet as timeless guidance for building a dignified society. Otu assured that his administration would uphold principles of inclusiveness and mutual respect, promoting an environment where all citizens could live securely and with dignity, regardless of their faith.

He encouraged the faithful to let the spirit of Maulud inspire acts of kindness and peaceful coexistence, wishing for the lessons of the Prophet to guide Cross River towards unity and prosperity.
