Aako Ugbab's Nature Photography Exhibition in Lagos

Aako Ugbab, a retired astrophysicist with a PhD in engineering physics, has returned to his long-held passion for nature photography, particularly birdwatching, during the COVID-19 lockdown. His exhibition, featuring 65 nature photographs, is set in Lagos and runs from May 2 to May 16.

Ugbab's work reflects a deeper ecological sensitivity and contrasts the hyper-commercial environment of Lagos with the tranquility of nature. He captures fleeting moments of avian life and human interactions with nature, including Fulani women engaged in trade.

Ugbab's photography aims to evoke contemplation and invites viewers to slow down and appreciate the extraordinary within the ordinary. His experiences highlight the challenges of capturing elusive bird species in Nigeria, emphasizing the need for patience and a keen eye in photography.
