Oríyomi Hamzat Seeks Oyo Governorship Nomination for 2027

Oríyomi Hamzat, a popular broadcaster based in Ibadan, has officially picked up a governorship nomination form from the Oyo Accord Party at their secretariat in Yemetu, Ibadan North Local Government Area, Oyo State. Hamzat declared his intent to run for the governorship race on January 19, 2026, attributing his decision to divine intervention and advice he received.

His campaign strategy includes mobilizing support throughout the state, which he describes as a new phase in political engagement. He has also pledged to provide transportation support for party members during the electoral exercise.

Hamzat is known for his grassroots influence, particularly through his work with Agidigbo FM, where he addresses social issues. He has vowed to resist the installation of a successor by the current governor, Seyi Makinde, in the 2027 elections, indicating a strong commitment to his political ambitions.
