CAF Inspectors Praise Remo Facilities in Nigeria for 2025/26 African Schools Championship Bid

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) inspectors conducted a comprehensive assessment of Nigeria's proposed venues for the 2025/26 African Schools Championship finals. The inspectors lauded the facilities in Remo for setting new standards in the sub-region.

The seven-member CAF delegation visited key locations, including Remo Star Sport Institute, FC Ebedei Stadium, Babcock University Teaching Hospital, and Babcock University Guest House. This inspection is part of CAF's selection process for the youth tournament scheduled for April.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) officials, along with representatives from the host institutions, accompanied the delegation during the visit. The tournament is expected to feature 24 teams, including eight boys' teams, eight girls' teams from Africa, and eight invited teams from FIFA confederations.

The championship aims to develop young football talent and promote education through a $10 million investment from CAF President Patrice Motsepe. The previous edition took place in Accra, where Ghana's boys' and girls' teams emerged as champions.
