Nigeria Immigration Service Inducts 73 PR Officers

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) inducted 73 of its Public Relations Officers into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) at the Service Headquarters in Abuja. This induction followed their successful completion of the NIPR Training and Certification Programme.

Representing the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, Deputy Comptroller-General Franca Nwanneka encouraged the newly inducted officers to maintain high professionalism standards, manage public perception, counter misinformation, and respond effectively to crises. She acknowledged the collaboration with the NIPR in enhancing public relations within the NIS.

Dr Ike Neliaku, President and Chairman of the NIPR Council, formally inducted the officers, urging them to embrace ethics and lifelong learning. Deputy Comptroller of Immigration Akinsola Akinlabi, the Service Public Relations Officer, emphasized the commitment to capacity building and standardizing public relations practices.

He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved in the program's success and urged the officers to apply their acquired knowledge in public engagement.
