NIS Inducts 73 New PROs to Enhance Public Relations

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) held its first mass professional induction for 73 new Public Relations Officers (PROs) on a Friday evening at its National Headquarters in Abuja. Comptroller General Kemi Nandap, represented by Deputy Comptroller General Franca Nwanneka, delivered a keynote address stressing that Public Relations has evolved into a strategic function essential for building public trust and protecting institutional reputation.

Nandap underscored the necessity for the NIS to gain professional respect and global recognition, stating that effective communication is crucial for institutional success. She urged the inductees to apply their newly acquired skills in their respective Commands and Formations.

Dr. Ike Neliaku, President of the NIPR, welcomed the new inductees, emphasizing their role as ambassadors of the NIS and Nigeria.

He highlighted the importance of their interactions with foreigners entering Nigeria, noting that they shape the country's image. Neliaku also mentioned an upcoming global public relations event in Nigeria later in the year.
