Coalition Urges Action Against Sowore's Court Protests

The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Good Governance in Nigeria has called on security agencies to intervene regarding Mr. Omoyele Sowore's ongoing disruptive behavior in court settings.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, the coalition's director of Programme, Johnson Micheal, emphasized that Sowore does not have exclusive rights to public protests and that court premises should not be transformed into venues for political confrontations that could disrupt judicial processes. The coalition warned that if Sowore and his supporters organize protests within or near court premises, they would respond by organizing their own peaceful and lawful demonstrations.

The group also commended the president for progress made in combating insecurity, stating that they would not permit anyone to derail these advancements with actions disguised as activism.
