Canadian Swimmer Penny Oleksiak Receives Two-Year Doping Ban

Canadian swimmer Penny Oleksiak has been banned for two years by the Aquatic Integrity Unit due to three whereabouts failures within a 12-month period. Despite not testing positive for any prohibited substances, the ban was imposed based on anti-doping regulations.

Oleksiak, a decorated Olympian with seven medals, withdrew from the World Championships in Singapore and stated on social media that she remains a clean athlete. Swim Canada's chief executive described the issue as an administrative error.

The ban will affect her participation in the upcoming events until July 2027.
