CANAL+ Secures UEFA Broadcast Rights for Sub-Saharan Africa

CANAL+ has secured exclusive broadcast rights to all UEFA men’s club competitions across Sub-Saharan Africa through 2031, ensuring that SuperSport will continue to broadcast the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League live to DStv and GOtv subscribers. This four-season agreement, commencing with the 2027/28 campaign, covers over 40 countries in the region.

In English- and Portuguese-speaking Africa, SuperSport will remain the exclusive broadcaster of these UEFA club competitions. Additionally, the agreement restores full UEFA Champions League coverage on CANAL+ Sport channels in French-speaking Africa.

Maxime Saada, CEO of CANAL+, expressed pride in this partnership, emphasizing that it enhances their sports portfolio, which already includes major competitions like the Premier League and Ligue 1. The rights deal ensures that football fans in Sub-Saharan Africa will have live coverage of Europe’s premier club competitions when the new rights cycle begins in 2027.
