Scotland-Norway Friendly Cancellation Sparks Coach Dispute

The Scotland National Team, managed by Steve Clarke, cancelled a scheduled friendly match against the Norway National Team, citing injury concerns among several players. Clarke decided to withdraw from the match to avoid aggravating minor injuries within the squad, stating that it was not worth the risk.

This decision drew sharp criticism from Norway's head coach, Ståle Solbakken, who described Scotland's actions as disappointing and unprofessional. Solbakken expressed frustration over the late notice of the cancellation, emphasizing that Norway had incorporated the fixture into their preparations for World Cup qualifiers.

Norway's team manager, Brede Hangeland, also expressed embarrassment over the cancellation, which came just a couple of days before the match. Norway is set to begin their group campaign against Iraq, while Scotland will face Haiti three days earlier, following a convincing 4-0 victory over Bolivia in their final warm-up match.
