NAF Chief Advocates Strategic Communication for Success

During the 2026 Directorate of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI) Annual Media Workshop, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), underscored the necessity of effective public communication for mission success within the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). He highlighted the challenges posed by misinformation, disinformation, and hostile narratives to military operations and public confidence.

Represented by AVM Abubakar Yaro Abdullahi, the Chief of Policy and Plans, Aneke stated that the current information environment is complex and dynamic, necessitating that information officers evolve beyond traditional roles. He tasked them with being strategic communicators who shape public understanding, project professionalism, and maintain institutional credibility.

Aneke emphasized that every communication must reflect accuracy, professionalism, integrity, and timeliness. He commended the efforts of the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore EA Ejodame, and the Organising Committee for organizing the workshop, which aims to enhance the NAF's ability to engage stakeholders and manage crises effectively.
