NYSC's Brigadier General Nafiu Urges PROs to Enhance Communication

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, addressed the need for enhanced strategic communication among its Public Relations Officers (PROs) during the 2026 Public Relations, Media and Protocol Officers Workshop in Abuja. He highlighted the workshop's theme, “NYSC Strategic Communication: Shaping Perception, Safeguarding Reputation, and Fostering Public Trust,” as timely and relevant in the current communication landscape.

Nafiu stressed that effective communication must be accurate, timely, credible, consistent, and responsive. He urged PROs to understand the NYSC mandate, anticipate public concerns, and ensure accurate information dissemination.

Nafiu, represented by Mr Chiwendu Chukwu, also encouraged the officers to improve their skills in proactive communication and crisis management. Mr Emeka Mgbemena, Director of the Media Department, emphasized the need for vigilance against misinformation on social media and the importance of professionalism in managing the NYSC's reputation.
