Ventura did not disclose her new country of residence, opting to keep this information private for her family's safety. In a declaration dated May 1, she requested to transfer her legal proceedings from California to New York, noting that New York attorneys are significantly more convenient for her participation in legal matters.

Ventura's testimony is connected to her lawsuit against Combs, which alleges decades of severe psychological, physical, and sexual abuse during their relationship. Evidence presented includes a 2016 hotel surveillance video capturing a brutal assault.

Her lawsuit has also triggered a federal investigation into Combs, who was ultimately convicted on charges related to sex crimes.
