CCC Urges Enhanced Security Intelligence in Nigeria

The CCC (Crisis Communication Centre) has urged for stronger intelligence coordination among Nigeria's security agencies to effectively combat evolving threats, particularly from terrorist groups and misinformation. Major General Chris Olukolade, chairman of the CCC, highlighted the importance of evidence-based security community policies and the need for ongoing assessments of the security environment.

The report acknowledges the successes of the Nigerian Armed Forces in rescuing kidnap victims and dismantling terrorist enclaves but warns that the tactics of these groups are evolving. The CCC emphasizes the necessity for national responses to address the intertwining physical and digital security threats, especially as the 2027 general elections approach.

It calls for political leaders and media organizations to promote responsible public discourse to strengthen national cohesion. The report also stresses the importance of economic resilience and coordinated policy responses to social vulnerabilities exacerbated by inflation and food insecurity.
