Chelsea FC Fined £10M and Suspended Registration Ban

Chelsea FC has been fined £10 million and handed a suspended two-window registration ban after being found guilty of 74 breaches of the Football Association’s regulations concerning football agents, intermediaries, and third-party investment in players. The breaches were self-reported by Chelsea’s current ownership following their acquisition of the club.

The Football Association stated that the financial penalty and the suspended ban were imposed after Chelsea admitted to the violations before an independent Regulatory Commission. Initially, a six-point deduction was also proposed but was overturned upon appeal.

The Appeal Board replaced this with a suspended registration ban for two consecutive transfer windows until June 30, 2027. The £10 million fine, which Chelsea did not contest, will be allocated to support grassroots football development.

The FA continues to investigate individual misconduct related to this case, which occurred prior to the current ownership's control of the club.
