Chevron Begins Oil Exploration in Guinea-Bissau, Boosting Energy Sector

Chevron has initiated oil exploration activities in Guinea-Bissau by taking charge of offshore blocks 5B and 6B in the MSGBC Basin through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Chevron Guinea Bissau Explor Ltda. The company holds a 90% working interest in the blocks, with the remaining 10% owned by the country's national oil company, Petroguin.

This strategic partnership follows the signing of agreements for the exploration licenses. Chevron's experience in deepwater operations globally, including in Africa, positions it to contribute to Guinea-Bissau's energy sector development.
