Tinubu Orders Enhanced School Protection on Children's Day

On the occasion of the 2026 Children's Day celebrations, President Bola Tinubu ordered security agencies and relevant ministries to strengthen protective measures for schools located in high-risk areas across Nigeria. This directive follows a series of abductions, particularly in Oyo and Borno States, where recent kidnappings have raised concerns for the safety of children.

Tinubu emphasized the need for intensified coordination in rescue efforts for abducted children and assured families that the government has not forgotten them. He instructed security agencies to sustain and intensify intelligence-led rescue operations aimed at securing the safe return of abducted children.

Additionally, Tinubu called for an update of the school vulnerability map and improved coordination between state governments and security agencies. He reaffirmed the administration's commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian child can learn in a safe environment, free from fear, and receive proper rehabilitation and support upon return from abduction.
