Chrisland School Awards Scholarships to 14 Pupils

Chrisland School has awarded full scholarships to 14 outstanding pupils from its primary school, following their performance in entrance examinations for secondary school. The scholarships, presented annually, cover full tuition for the first three years of secondary education and may extend for an additional three years, contingent upon the students maintaining academic excellence.

Mr. Ibironk Adeyemi, the Managing Director of Chrisland School Opebi, expressed delight at the initiative's positive impact on numerous students since its inception.

He urged beneficiaries to maintain impressive academic records as they transition to secondary school, noting the new challenges that require greater effort. The scholarship program, which has been running for 30 years, typically awards scholarships to an average of 15 to 17 learners each year.

Dr. Olajid Onigbogi, the Head of School, emphasized the rigorous selection process, where 500 to 700 candidates usually sit for the secondary school entrance examination, with 20 pupils shortlisted for the scholarship test.

Mr. Ayoola Akinyey congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to remain focused on their academic pursuits.
