Oyo Deputy Governor Defends Circular Road Project

Barrister Bayo Lawal, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, addressed allegations regarding the Senator Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road project in Ibadan, stating it is not intended for land acquisition for personal gain. During an inspection of key projects, including the circular road and the terminal building at Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Lawal highlighted the project's purpose of promoting development and economic activities in Ibadan.

The circular road spans approximately 110 kilometers, which will effectively be 220 kilometers when considering its dual carriageway configuration. Currently, 32 kilometers have been asphalted, equating to 64 kilometers of dual carriageway.

Lawal confirmed that the project is being executed by two contractors, Kremberg and Kopek, and expressed confidence in its completion before the end of the current administration. He assured that property owners affected by the project would be compensated and urged residents to register with the Ministry of Lands for this purpose, reiterating that the administration is not seizing anyone's land.
