CITAD Trains Nigerian Officials on Gender and Climate Gaps in Digital Policies

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) is conducting training for government officials in Nigeria, focusing on bridging gender and climate gaps in digital policies. Fatima Babakura, the project lead at the Green Feminist Center, is spearheading the initiative with support from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The project aims to align Nigeria's digital transformation agenda with gender equality and climate considerations. Babakura highlighted the importance of addressing significant gender and climate gaps in digital policies.

The workshop brought together government officials, policy analysts, policymakers, and gender and climate experts to discuss these crucial issues. CITAD also conducted research identifying key policy gaps and provided recommendations during the project.

Stakeholder webinars were held to gather input on incorporating these recommendations into policy measures. The project includes a monitoring mechanism to track the knowledge gained during the training and its application in policy reviews.
