Citizens Essential for National Security, Says Army Chief

During a ceremony in Rivers State, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, underscored the crucial role of citizens in achieving national security objectives. He inaugurated the renovation of community primary and secondary schools in Rumuomasi, Obio Akpor Local Government Area, as part of the Nigerian Army's special intervention civil-military cooperation project.

This initiative marks the Army's commitment to fostering public support and enhancing civil-military relations, with a total of 250 intervention projects planned across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones. The projects include the renovation of classrooms, construction of new toilets, and provision of educational materials and uniforms for students.

Shaibu highlighted that the success of military operations relies heavily on public trust and cooperation. He expressed satisfaction with the community's turnout, which reflects solidarity with the Nigerian Army's efforts.

Gift Worlu, the Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Area, praised the Army's interventions, emphasizing their importance for enhancing education and security in the region.
