Mutfwang Clarifies Remarks to Igbo Community Amid Misinterpretation

During a recent courtesy visit by Igbo leaders from the 17 local government areas of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang made remarks that were later misinterpreted, prompting reactions from Nigerians. Gyang Bere, the governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, clarified that the comments were taken out of context.

Bere emphasized that Mutfwang's statements were meant to foster appreciation, reconciliation, and national unity, recognizing the resilience and contributions of the Igbo community to Plateau State. He asserted that the governor did not intend to diminish the historical realities of Nigeria’s Civil War, which should be remembered with empathy.
