CLAIM Launches Animated Climate Change Awareness Video

On April 29, 2026, CLAIM unveiled an animated video as part of its Climate Change Campaign during a media launch in Lagos State. The initiative aims to raise awareness and educate the public about the impacts of climate change, particularly severe flooding, sea-level rise, and health risks associated with improper waste management.

The campaign, developed in collaboration with LACSOP and other civil society networks, features the animated video in English, Yoruba, and Pidgin to engage a wider audience, especially young people. Ayo Adebusoy, Chairman of LACSOP, expressed appreciation for the campaign's timing, highlighting the immediate effects of climate change in Lagos State, which threatens 500 educational centers and critical infrastructure across 14 local government areas.

The project anticipates an annual GDP loss of $17 billion due to climate-related issues. The campaign encourages citizen engagement and accountability, aiming to inspire greater environmental responsibility among the public.
