Clearing Agent Arraigned for Attempted Drug Export

Agoro Moninuola, a clearing agent, was arraigned in the Federal High Court in Lagos on charges related to drug trafficking. He is accused of attempting to export 280 kilograms of cocaine to the United Kingdom through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja.

The prosecution, led by Arit Okon from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), stated that Moninuola allegedly conspired with Azeez Nurudeen Nuru and unlawfully procured services from Ama Obinna Ufiem and others to facilitate the export of the narcotic substance. The alleged offenses occurred in April 2026, and the cocaine was intercepted during an outward examination of cargo.

Moninuola pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the court has set bail at N10 million with sureties. The case has been adjourned until October 28, 2026, for the commencement of the trial.
