Atoyebi Advocates CNG Buses for Abuja Federal Workers

Atoyebi called for the provision of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses for federal workers in Abuja to address transportation challenges faced by civil servants due to rising fuel costs. This proposal followed his visits on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, to the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), where staff expressed concerns about the high cost of commuting.

One worker from Kuje reported difficulties sustaining daily travel expenses, while an Assistant Director noted that fuel prices hindered her ability to drive to work regularly. Atoyebi instructed his team to draft a letter to Ismail Ahmed, the Executive Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, requesting CNG buses for NBC employees at the managerial level and below.

He also noted similar transportation issues raised by the Chief Medical Director of a military hospital and a man seeking financial assistance near the Senate building. Atoyebi referenced Dr. David Oyedepo's earlier proposals to President Tinubu regarding transportation costs and emphasized the need for government action to implement affordable staff transportation policies.
