Atoyebi Urges Tinubu to Deploy CNG Buses for Workers

Comrade Bamidele Atoyebi, the Convener of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG), has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently implement the deployment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses across federal ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). This initiative aims to mitigate the impact of rising transportation costs on civil servants.

Atoyebi's appeal arose after he encountered federal workers in Abuja, particularly during a visit to the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) on August 12, where employees expressed concerns about transportation expenses consuming a large portion of their salaries. He noted that one worker from Kuje highlighted the increasing cost of commuting, while an Assistant Director mentioned difficulties in driving to work due to high petrol prices.

Atoyebi plans to send a letter to Ismail Ahmed, the Executive Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, requesting CNG buses for NBC workers. He also emphasized the need for CNG conversion centers and urged state governors to adopt similar measures to improve transportation affordability for workers.
