CNG Urges Unity Amid Rising Insecurity in Northern Nigeria

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), represented by National Coordinator Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, condemned the brutal attacks in Kaduna and Plateau States, which resulted in at least 14 deaths in Anguwan Rukuba and 13 in Kagarko LGA. The group raised alarms about potential retaliatory actions by youth in Plateau State, warning that such violence could exacerbate tensions and lead to further insecurity.

CNG called for unity among citizens and urged religious leaders and community influencers to exercise restraint to avoid inflammatory statements. They highlighted the need for the federal and state governments to take decisive action to protect lives and property, moving beyond reactive measures to implement sustainable strategies addressing the root causes of insecurity.

Additionally, the CNG warned against foreign interlopers exploiting local conflicts for destabilization, emphasizing the importance of public confidence in security operations and urging citizens to remain calm and law-abiding.
