New Soldier Accommodation Blocks Commissioned in Rivers

On Friday, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, commissioned newly constructed accommodation blocks for soldiers at the 6 Division in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In a statement made available by the Army spokesperson, Colonel Appolonia Anel, Shaibu reaffirmed the Nigerian Army's unwavering commitment to the welfare of its personnel.

He stressed that providing decent and secure accommodation for soldiers and their families remains a strategic priority. The Chief of Army Staff noted that improving living conditions directly enhances morale and strengthens operational readiness.

He emphasized the importance of adequate care for soldiers to better safeguard Nigeria's territorial integrity in response to emerging security challenges. Shaibu acknowledged the continuous support from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in providing resources to strengthen personnel welfare and enhance operational effectiveness.
