COAS Calls for Private Sector Investment in Military

On Friday, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, urged for enhanced private sector investment in military infrastructure, troops' welfare, and veterans' support during a meeting with Dr Ubon Udoh, Managing Director and CEO of the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja. Shaibu emphasized that partnerships with the private sector are crucial for strengthening national security and improving operational effectiveness.

He commended Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu for his ongoing support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Shaibu pointed out that investments in rural infrastructure, particularly road networks, have significant security and economic benefits, enhancing troop mobility and logistics.

He also stressed the importance of quality healthcare for soldiers and veterans, stating that it is vital for maintaining morale and combat effectiveness. Shaibu expressed gratitude to BUA Group and ASR Africa for their contributions and acknowledged President Bola Tinubu's approval for the Nigerian Army's expansion, which includes the construction of 120 accommodation units for Corporals and Below at Giri, Abuja.
