COAS Urges Army Aviation to Combat Bandits and Terrorists

On Tuesday, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, addressed personnel of the Nigerian Army Aviation at Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment in Giri, Abuja. He charged them to intensify operations aimed at the total annihilation of bandits and terrorists threatening national security.

General Shaibu highlighted the central role of air power in modern warfare and counter-insurgency, emphasizing that Army Aviation is crucial for intelligence gathering, troop movement, medical evacuation, and precision strikes. He urged the personnel to dominate the airspace and deny criminal elements freedom of action.

Additionally, he unveiled new accommodations for officers and soldiers, reinforcing the Army's "Soldier First" policy to enhance morale and operational efficiency. Shaibu commended the Directorate of Procurement for the timely delivery of the project and reaffirmed the Army Headquarters' commitment to equipping the Aviation arm with modern infrastructure.

Brigadier General Al-Amin Ibrahim, Coordinator of the Nigerian Army Aviation Command, expressed gratitude for the Chief of Army Staff's leadership and commitment to personnel welfare.
