Ehum Omagwu Community Fights Illicit Drug Trade

The community of Ehum Omagwu in the Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State is taking a stand against illicit drug dealers, as articulated by their traditional ruler, HRH Ez Elect Chukwudik John Osuagwu. In an exclusive interview, Osuagwu highlighted the detrimental effects of drug abuse on the youth and the community at large.

He stated that making illicit drugs difficult to access would significantly reduce drug abuse among the youth. The monarch also stressed the importance of providing skills training and educational opportunities to the younger generation, particularly those from indigenous backgrounds who face financial challenges that hinder their education.

He called on the Abia State government to construct rural roads and improve healthcare delivery in the community, as well as to support agricultural processing industries to help local farmers reduce post-harvest losses. Osuagwu emphasized the need for government assistance in completing road projects to facilitate easier movement and access to essential services.
