30 Killed in Kaduna Attack, Urgent Action Demanded

A tragic attack occurred in the Naridon (Kizakoro) community, Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where at least 30 individuals were killed late Sunday into early Monday. The assailants reportedly struck shortly before midnight, targeting residents as they slept, resulting in the deaths of men, women, and children, and the destruction of homes and businesses.

The U.S.–Nigeria Civil Society Coalition alleged that suspected ‘Fulani militants’ were responsible for the assault, which they described as part of a pattern of violence against agrarian and minority Christian communities in Southern Kaduna. The coalition emphasized the need for Nigerian security authorities to protect all citizens and called for the apprehension and prosecution of those responsible for the killings.

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, condemned the massacre as indicative of the federal government’s failure to protect lives and property.
