Amnesty International Condemns Deadly Kaduna Attack

Amnesty International condemned the killing of at least 30 people during an overnight attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The attack, described as one of the deadliest in southern Kaduna in recent years, occurred on Monday night when heavily armed gunmen stormed the village, killing residents and pursuing those who fled.

Many victims were reportedly slaughtered in nearby bushes. Amnesty International stated that disturbing evidence, including images of entire families killed in their homes, was obtained.

The organization noted that children had their throats slit, and blood was found throughout the village. Despite President Bola Tinubu's assurances that security agencies were directed to end violent attacks, Amnesty International highlighted the government's inability to ensure citizens' safety.

The organization attributed the ongoing violence to the failure of authorities to protect vulnerable communities and prosecute perpetrators, fueling a climate of impunity.
