Constituents Petition ICPC Over Missing Empowerment Items

Residents of Kawo in Kaduna North have submitted a petition to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) concerning alleged missing constituency empowerment items. The petition, led by Ibrahim Sa'id Alkali, urges the ICPC to investigate claims that items meant for poverty alleviation and youth empowerment, including 212 tricycles, 320 motorcycles, 450 sewing machines, 24 vehicles, 200 water pump machines, and 5,500 bags of rice, were either withheld or not distributed properly.

These items were reportedly acquired for distribution approximately two years ago, with some arriving only about ten months ago. The petitioners expressed concerns over the transparency of the distribution process and requested verification of whether the items were procured and delivered as intended.

They also called for an investigation into whether additional constituency intervention assets were procured by the current lawmaker in office and if the distribution adhered to its intended purpose.
