Dangote Offers Lowest Cooking Gas Price at N950/kg

As of August 31, 2026, Dangote maintained the lowest depot price for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at N950 per kilogram. The market data indicated that most depot prices remained unchanged, with only A.Y.M Shafa reducing its price from N1,055 to N1,050 per kilogram, a decrease of approximately 0.5%.

Conversely, PPMC increased its price from N975 to N980 per kilogram. Other suppliers, including Ardova and Navgas, held steady at N975 per kilogram, while Rain Oil and Matrix remained at N990 and N1,050 per kilogram, respectively.

The price difference means that consumers purchasing a 12.5kg cylinder at the highest rate would pay N13,125, compared to N11,875 at Dangote's rate. Retail prices for cooking gas currently range from N1,250 to N1,650 per kilogram across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with significant variations based on distributor and location.

The National Bureau of Statistics reported a month-on-month increase in the price of a 5kg cylinder by 13.73% from March to April 2026.
