Corps Member Drowns in Bayelsa; Investigation Underway

Comr. Okebaram Stanley, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and former Student Union Government President at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, drowned in a creek in Nembe Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

The incident occurred while he was swimming, leading to widespread shock among friends, colleagues, and student bodies. DSP Musa Mohammed, the Police spokesman, confirmed the incident and stated that a full investigation had been launched to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his death.

The Bayelsa Comrade Family, through spokesman Comrade Ayakeme Paebi, urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims that Stanley was murdered, emphasizing that the incident was a tragic accident. They called for accurate reporting to prevent misinformation that could cause panic and distress among the community.

The case remains under investigation by the authorities.
