NANS Demands Justice for Murdered Corps Member in Bayelsa

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone B South-South, has given a seven-day ultimatum to the Bayelsa State Government, Nigeria Police Force, and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to arrest and prosecute the individuals responsible for the murder of Comrade Stanley Okebaram. Okebaram, a serving corps member and former Students’ Union President of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, was reportedly murdered in the Bassambiri community of Nembe Local Government Area, with his body found abandoned near a river.

NANS condemned the act as “heinous, barbaric and unacceptable,” expressing concerns over the safety of corps members nationwide. The statement, issued by Zone B Coordinator Victor Ogechukwu Anthony, warned that failure to make significant progress would lead to mass protests by students across the South-South region.

NANS called for a thorough investigation and urged community members to assist security agencies in ensuring justice for Okebaram.
