CJE Dismisses Coup Allegations Against Timipre Sylva

The Chief Justice of the Centre for Justice Equity (CJE) has dismissed allegations that Timipre Sylva, the former Minister of State for Petroleum, is involved in a financial coup against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration. The CJE described these allegations as unverifiable and expressed concern over the troubling reputation of online newspapers that publish such claims without proof.

Chief Igoni William, in a statement, criticized the reports for lacking confirmation from the Defence Headquarters and security agencies, questioning the authenticity of the sources. The CJE emphasized the importance of due process and the need for verified information in a democratic society, warning against the exploitation of national security matters for local political vendettas.

The statement highlighted that there is no credible evidence linking Sylva to any coup plot and reaffirmed his commitment to democratic governance and the rule of law.
