Tijjaniyya Youth Withdraws Support for Tinubu Ahead of 2027

The Tijjaniyya Youth Nigeria, led by Faruk Yusuf Balarab, has officially announced the withdrawal of its political support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections. This decision stems from the perceived unfair detention of Sheikh Sani Khalifa in Zaria, who has been held for 70 days without clear justification.

The group has called for local and international human rights organizations to intervene and has urged the military and the Department of State Services (DSS) to present Khalifa in court. Instead of engaging in protests, the Tijjaniyya Youth plans to mobilize votes against Tinubu, emphasizing their commitment to justice and the welfare of the Nigerian people.

They have also called on their followers to remain peaceful and disciplined while awaiting the opportunity to exercise their voting rights in 2027.
