Osun Court Dismisses Sacked LG Chairmen's Application Over Frozen Funds

The Osun State High Court in Ibadan dismissed an application by sacked local government chairmen from the APC seeking to overturn an earlier order freezing disputed council funds held by UBA PLC. Justice Ladiran Akintola ruled that the former chairmen lacked legal standing to challenge the court's order.

The court emphasized the absence of legal recognition of interest in the funds, leading to the dismissal of the application. The lead counsel for Osun State, Musibau Adetunbi, expressed gratitude to the court and indicated plans to obtain a clearer copy of a recent Supreme Court ruling related to the case.
