Court Orders Police to Probe Senator Fadahunsi's Comments

A Magistrate Court sitting in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, has instructed the police to investigate Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents the Osun East Senatorial District, over alleged comments that called for violence against members of the Accord Party. Presiding Magistrate II, Farida Ibrahim, directed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7, Abuja, to conduct the investigation and submit a report within two weeks.

This directive was issued in a letter dated August 13, 2026, signed by the court's Registrar, Abdulraham Yusuf. The complaint was lodged by Pelumi Olajengbesi, the campaign spokesman for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, following statements made by Fadahunsi in a viral video.

Olajengbesi accused Fadahunsi of inciting violence against Accord Party supporters ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election. Additionally, Olajengbesi threatened to file a N10 billion defamation suit against Fadahunsi for separate allegations made during television interviews, where Fadahunsi accused Olajengbesi of sponsoring thugs and cult groups.
