Court Orders Police Probe of Senator Fadahunsi's Comments

A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, has ordered the police to investigate Senator Francis Fadahunsi over alleged comments that called for the killing of members of the Accord party ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. Presiding Magistrate II, Farida Ibrahim, directed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7, Abuja, to investigate the complaint filed by Pelumi Olajengbesi, the campaign spokesman for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The court's directive, issued in a letter dated August 13, 2026, requires a report within two weeks. Olajengbesi accused Fadahunsi of making statements in a viral video that allegedly encouraged violence against Accord members.

Additionally, Olajengbesi threatened to file a N10 billion defamation suit against Fadahunsi over separate allegations made during interviews on Viable TV and Channels Television, where Fadahunsi accused Olajengbesi of sponsoring thugs and cult groups. Olajengbesi denied these allegations, asserting they were false and damaging to his reputation.
