Atiku Abubakar Hails Court Ruling on ADC Leadership Suit

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, commended the Federal High Court in Abuja for dismissing a suit that challenged the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Thursday. He described the court's decision as a significant victory for constitutional democracy and a rejection of attempts to use the judiciary for political warfare.

Justice Musa Liman ruled that the court lacked jurisdiction as the plaintiff did not exhaust internal remedies provided by the party's constitution nor establish the necessary standing to invoke the court's jurisdiction. Atiku's Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Frank Shaibu, stated that the judgment reinforces the principle that the judiciary should not be dragged into partisan political battles.

Atiku urged ADC members to remain united and focus on building the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence in the party's ability to provide a credible alternative for Nigerians.
