Atiku Abubakar Clarifies ADC Primaries Court Ruling

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, issued a statement through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, asserting that the court did not invalidate the African Democratic Congress (ADC) primaries held for the 2027 general elections. He described attempts to misrepresent the court's ruling as misleading and aimed at demoralizing the opposition.

Atiku emphasized the importance of remaining calm and resolute, urging ADC members to focus on their campaign and not be swayed by misinformation. He stated that the judgment did not nullify the primaries and that the legal principles governing electoral processes differ from those of party nominations.

Atiku expressed confidence in the judicial process and instructed his legal team to approach the Supreme Court for further clarification. He called on Nigerians to unite in their aspirations for a better country and to continue their political engagement despite attempts to distort the truth.
