Call for Prosecution of Senator Fadahunsi Over Remarks

Pelumi Olajengbesi, the spokesperson for the Ademola Adeleke Governorship Campaign Council, called on the Nigeria Police Force to investigate and potentially prosecute Senator Francis Fadahunsi for remarks made during the recent Osun State governorship election. Olajengbesi expressed concerns about the increasing use of threats and inflammatory statements by political figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He referenced a video where Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, made controversial remarks against members of the Accord Party, which drew public criticism. Although the police invited Fadahunsi for questioning, he was released without prosecution.

Olajengbesi emphasized the need for political actors to engage voters through policies rather than intimidation, warning that failure to address such rhetoric could normalize threats in electoral politics. He urged the police to act on the allegations against Fadahunsi, stating that Nigeria cannot afford to enter the 2027 elections with intimidation as a norm.
