Delta Commissioner Izeze Remanded Amid Assault Allegations

Reuben Izeze, the Delta State Commissioner for Works, Highway and Urban Roads, has been remanded for fourteen days by a High Court in Effurun, Delta State. This remand is in connection with an alleged attack on Temple Mudi, who serves as a Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Following the court's decision, Governor Oborevwori suspended Izeze from his position immediately. The suspension was announced through a statement by Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, the Secretary to the State Government.

This action aims to allow security agencies to conduct an unbiased investigation into the allegations surrounding Izeze's involvement in the assault, which reportedly occurred at the Petroleum Training Institute in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area. The state government reiterated its commitment to maintaining public safety and ensuring law and order, even when state institutions are implicated.
