Court Adjourns Judgment on Taraba APC Primary Disputes

On Wednesday, the Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, Taraba State, adjourned indefinitely its judgment regarding two separate suits that challenge the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing and Ardo Kola/Karim Lamido/Lau federal constituencies. The decision followed the conclusion of arguments from counsel representing the parties involved in the case.

The presiding judge, Justice Mashkur Salisu, announced that the judgment delivery date would be communicated to the parties involved. The suits were instituted by Princess Leah Olusiyi Solomon and Job Julius, who seek to nullify the APC primary elections conducted in their respective constituencies.

The plaintiffs allege that the APC failed to conduct valid primary elections as required by the Electoral Act and the party's guidelines, arguing that no lawful primary elections took place. They urged the court to declare the purported exercises null and void and to invalidate the outcomes of the alleged primaries.
