Court Reserves Judgment on Pantami's PDP Candidacy

The Federal High Court in Gombe State has reserved judgment on a suit filed by Aliyu Garri, challenging the emergence of Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami as the People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 elections. Justice Amina Aliyu Muhammad presided over the case, which saw counsel for the party, Moha Abdul San, argue for the dismissal of the suit, asserting that Pantami's emergence complied with PDP's procedures.

Garri's counsel, Eko Ejembi Eko, urged the court to grant the relief sought, claiming the suit was meritorious and deserving of the court's intervention. The judgment was reserved after both sides adopted their final written addresses.

Additionally, a similar suit was filed by Khamisu Mailantarki, who contested Pantami's candidacy, seeking to nullify the May 26, 2026, primary election results and requesting fresh primaries. The court's judgment date will be communicated to the parties involved.
